The Beach

There are many different beaches:

- Hourtin Plage. the waves are highest here. Good for "professional" surfers.

- Montalivet. The dunes north of the town are thin. Car parking right behind the dunes.

- LeGurp beach is busy. There are many young people.

- La Negade ( south of L'Amelie) is very calm.

- The promenade / beach of Soulac sur Mer is crowded and very cozy. The beach is cleaned daily.

Parking is still (2016) free on the boulevard

- North of Soulac sur Mer are many dune crossings. Access to the beach takes a little more effort.

- There are several beaches at the Gironde. The beaches at Le Verdon are the most attractive. Here you van hire boats to sail on the river.
